  1. I really love the happier & healthier life one… “marry your best friend” 🙂

And also #11 can’t get said enough “doing something everyday that terrifies you”–It makes so much sense in this way. You want to grow to be fearless, to get and give the most out of your life, not stay fearful of everything around you and doing minimal impact.
    Thanks for the share

Great post! Definitely bookmarked. Loved the series that you’ve shared with us. I love that quote and it just gets so inspiring every time I read it. It was indeed a beautiful and mesmerizing shot of waves that’re full of ice. I really love this mag, it gives me a lot of inspiration about everything.

  3. Christina Norelli

Some stunning pictures of the iced out ocean! it looks bitterly cold though! I would be tempted to hibernate if I was there. I wonder how the wild life are doing, poor little things. 🙁

  4. Melissa Princeton

Great finds. I really enjoyed the one about how to be happier and healthier. If everything else fails, go vegan!!! Eat healthy, live healthy, be happy. 🙂

  5. Cassi Braun

Those pictures of the frozen waves are awesome and I would have loved to have been there to see it. I’ve never seen or heard of this phenomenon before. I wish there was video to get the full effect. As crazy as our world has become, it’s nice to see that nature can still surprise us with a beautiful scene. 🙂

  6. Sensational pictures! Looks like every year the scientists who have said we are entering into another mini Ice Age get confirmation of it. I’m sure the people in these snowy areas would prefer to have global warming!

  7. Elin Hanks

I don’t get why people would ‘rescue’ these children. They are living with what they consider family only to be taken away by people who don’t understand them and will most likely poke and prod them and keep them locked up. The only reason I see to rescue them is if they’re a danger to humans or the environment or physically unhealthy because of their environment. But they are not!

  8. Loved these pictures of the frozen waves. Real people living real lives dealing with what nature throws at them. For some reason this made my day. A billion years before we were on this rock and a billion after we have gone, nature will be doing its thing!

  9. Colleen Frasier

I would honestly rather be raised by wild animals. Humans don’t understand the values of certain things, they only know the value of money and power. If humans could live like any other animal, that would be great. I hate being controlled by humans when all they do is ruin the earth.

  10. Helena Stevens

I’ve always lived near the shore and seeing it frozen is mindblowing! I have seen almost every possible thing the ocean can do. From one corner of the world to another. This I have got to say tops anything!!!! Bravo to the photographer, having the sense to capture it.

  11. Franny Pimms

What a lovely mini film, truly inspiring! Thank you for sharing it. It’s an amazing shor film that shows so well that we all are meant / have a right to be happy, disabled or not. LOVE IT! 🙂

  12. Why do the authorities try to capture these people? If it’s a small child i totally understand, but if they are grown or near enough and living as the animal they were raised by, then why not leave them in the wild? There’s nothing wrong with living in the wild!

  13. Andrea Beasley

Love all of these! Especially the one about how to be happier. – Even if you focus on just one of the ten tips, your happiness quotient will increase dramatically. Small steps. Start somewhere.

  14. Jennifer McSween

The waves are really cool. I’ve never seen anything like that! Cool waves. Literally too. I grew up surfing in Hawaii, and always thought the perfect wave was in Honolua Bay on Maui. But this was perfect symmetry.

  15. Matilda Parker

Awesome article on how to be happier, healthier, and more successful. It’s so great to read and remind ourselves of what we can do to cheer up and be happier in general. Wonderful to know that it takes small changes in your present life to be happy. It gives great pleasure by sharing, spreading love and humanity with positive attitude.

  16. Kim Hartford

I cannot even begin to imagine cold THAT cold! Those ‘slupry’ waves are amazing! Loved all these pictures. I have never seen frozen waves before or waves with ice. It is amazing what nature produces and the beauty it brings. 🙂

  17. The pictures of the frozen sea look absolutely amazing. Wow! Wonderful the surprises nature has for us. But it’s also frightening how quickly the weather changes.

  18. Pamela Sanabria

I notice they don’t really go in depth with these kids and their often tragic endings. Many of them lived their lives in mental institutions or committed suicide. None of those kids could be considered normal, though a notable few like Oxana go on to live mostly normal lives, most still are mentally impaired. I read that quite a few of the “monkey” children were not actually raised by the monkeys but followed them around and ate the food they dropped.

  19. Shannon Bradley

I’m completely stunned after seeing the arfticle about the children who were raised by wild animals. Makes you think when you read Mthiyane lived with monkeys and was able to survive, then humans come along and take him away, he dies 10 years later in a orphanage fire…

  20. Camila Hilhorst

He says “Thank you for serving me when I didn’t vote for you” A lesson for all. 🙂 Any president or government is supposed to work 100% for ALL it’s citizens, instead of the farce we see in the US and the UK I guess where opposition parties spend all their time trying to obstruct any work the elected government are doing to help the people. The result is poor legislation, poor services yet the children who occupy congress and the senate still get their fat cat salaries and pensions.

Most of the civilized world has affordable healthcare. Big whoop, That is just the candy coating for the socialist’s poison pill.

  21. Danielle Wilson

Big wow at those frozen waves! I’m gonna go ahead and say it: Global Climate change. ‘Global’ is the key word here, of course – it refers to average temperatures all over the world; which are, in fact rising and have been for quite some time. That doesn’t mean though, that local weather events, such as these powerful images present, will all follow exactly the same course – more extreme situations, such as warmer summers and colder winters are becoing more common. All in all, these local patterns make up a global scenario, which is not encouraging.

  22. I hope they asked Mr Brown before they published his letter. The local reps around him could make life more uncomfortable than an autoimmune disease! I am sure people will now want to interview ‘Brent Nathan Brown’ etc, so I hope he is real. But here you have the crux of it – someone with a ‘pre-existing’ condition could not get any health coverage and would simply be left to die as he was unable to afford the drugs, until the ACA allowed him to get the treatment he needed.

Thank you for sharing , the 50 ways happier, healthier article is very useful for me. For me numbers 13,15,17 and 43 works! I always go to bed early, rise early and make my bed every morning. I think that inspiration and motivation go hand-in-hand & are both essential components for the success of anyone. I will try some of the other tips. That is so true! Maya’s quote.

  24. Helen Dark

This is very inspirational in and of itself. I checked out some of the articles and absolutely loved it. This is a great set. It’s informative and interesting. Thank you so much!

  25. Merry Robinson

  26. Heather Strobel

Wow, what a great set of ideas. I’ll have to bookmark this post and come back to it next time. I agree and loved the quote of Maya Angelou. I’m always amazed at what you can bring to us. Thanks for sharing and the effort! 🙂

  27. Thanks for sharing the video! Very nice and encouraging!

    • Sarah Evanston

Agree! It made my day! Very inspiring!

  28. Brana Dane

I find that quote by Maya very applicable to those children raised by animals. Nice portraits, but very sad stories 🙁

  29. Another fantastic roundup from Urbanette! They are all great read and inspiring! Thanks for all these!

  30. Carolyn Donovan

Great photos of children under animals’ custody. However, the stories (inspiration) behind those pictures are heartbreaking 🙁

  31. The photos of frozen waves are really nice to look at. BUT, I got worried for I realized that the world is really suffering from weather change 🙁

  32. Loving your Great Discoveries Series. Thanks for taking time to put best resources together!

  33. I was reading the article “50 Ways Happier, Healthier, and More Successful People Live on Their Own Terms.” I’d say that I do not agree with everything on the list, but I think one important message that we should live by is: Think about yourself, what makes you happy and what works well for you.”

    • Gabby Williams

I also don’t agree on some points. My life was changed when I became less interested in money. When I was younger, I was like “I need to work… I need to earn.” And yeah, it caused soooo much stress. But when I got married and decided to stay with my child, I realized that there are other things that can make us happier and richer.

  34. Those photos of children raised by animals are amazing! Thanks for sharing!

  35. Francis Woods

Applause!!! Great compilation, Urbanette!!! The article featuring the frozen waves is just… WOW!!! I’m lost for words!!!

    • I remember seeing those waves when I was younger. Well, not really frozen solid but still very gorgeous to look at.
