St. Moritz Travel Journal

Relaxation, pampering, and adventure merge in Switzerland’s uber-expensive winter playland.

If you’re wondering where to go for breakfast (or for a meal that doesn’t cost 3x the price of other cities), there’s a great spot called Hauser in the center of town. It’s a lively restaurant with a great scene that often has live music. It’s also got a large outdoor seating area and bar. They’ve got a huge menu full of fantastic, healthy dishes, and their mulled wine is ohhhh soooo yummy. Definitely check it out when you’re in town.

And if you’re looking for some skiing action, The Carlton can hook you up. They have a ski/snowboard shop where you can get rentals, ski passes, etc. right in the hotel. My hubby (who is an expert boarder) went snowboarding and said the slopes were world-class, easily rivaling Chamonix and much better than any American slopes.

Just stopped by to let you know that after reading this, I enjoyed 3 magical evenings at this 5 star, classic, luxurious and very comfortable hotel. I love that it’s perched over Lake St. Moritz and every room is situated to have this view. I was lucky to stay in the Chagall Suite. As the name implies, the theme was decorated colorfully in the spirit of Marc Chagall, the artist. I just love it. I hope everyone can experience what I experience there 🙂

This hotel is just amazing, everything is top. Location the best in St. Moritz, service. The highlight is the Restaurant da Vittorio. The suites are just beautiful. Unfortunately, the hotel is closed for the Summer season.
