Our content is 100% unique, written just for Urbanette®. Our editorial philosophy is one of positive self-image and empowerment. We respect our readers’ intelligence and strive to deliver articles that enrich their lives. We offer straight-forward solutions to modern urban living and the scoop on what’s hip in fashion, beauty, travel and luxury products.
Hilary Rowland:
CEO / ‘Influencer’ / Founder
A lifelong entrepreneur, writer and designer, Hilary is the CEO and creative director behind Urbanette. Hilary has traveled extensively around the world writing travel articles. She is always looking for new hot topics, destinations and brands to bring to Urbanette® readers. In her spare time she goes on road trips across Europe with her hubby and two cats, and has (vegan) dinner with friends. Follow her personal accounts on Facebook and Twitter. More about Hilary.
Operations:
Sania Mirza:
Editorial Assistant
Sania has been volunteering and working with charities that help girls since she was young. She grew up in Orange County, spends much of her summers abroad in India, loves electronic and classical music, and is obsessed with her jack russell-ish rescue, Patch. She manages her family’s impact-focused fund for half of the day, and helps out Urbanette for the other half. She is super-organized and makes sure that everyone at Urbanette is too.
Angela (Angie) Davis:
Volunteer Staff Manager, Contributor
Originally from Denver and now living in New York City, Angie has been writing since she was small. She lives in the Flatiron district with her partner Tanya and their mutt Sparky (always adopt!) Angie helps out with all sorts of things at Urbanette®, including article scheduling and sifting through all the guest post requests. To afford NYC living, she is a fashion stylist and does personal shopping for wealthy women (and more than a few A-list celebs!) In her spare time she loves to paint (mostly abstract) and talk to random people on the street to find out what’s interesting to them.
Sam Bennett:
Advertising & Partnerships
Samantha has been working in publishing since college. Living in Denver, she’s been besties with Angela since grade school. She loves coming up with creative sponsored post partnerships and helping Urbanette grow our roster of brands who advertise in our print issues.
Featured Contributors:
Sarah Woodstock:
Dating & Trends Contributor
Sarah enlightens us on a daily basis with the newest trends as (and often before) they transpire. She is the consummate globe trotter and has her own (aptly titled) blog: Insider Diva. Having traveled to over 70 countries, she earns her living writing and modeling while on the road. She infuses Urbanette with more than its fair dose of insight into worldwide high-end living trends. In her spare time she gets manicures, suntans (even though Hilary and Rebecca tell her she shouldn’t!) on yachts in Greece, browses Instagram, shops for even more shoes, and lives in the limelight. Sarah loves photography, elephants, sailboats, bangles and ballet flats.
Rebecca Ariane Givens:
Beauty & Health Contributor
Rebecca’s passion for nutrition, fitness and beauty has taken her around the globe. She is both a blogger (her blog, Radiant Peach, is all about living a healthy lifestyle) and a nutritionist who regularly works with celebrities and models. In fact, she is a part-time model herself. Constantly on a quest for inspiration all around her, in her spare time Rebecca takes relaxing breaks at top spas and shops the world endlessly for that “one of a kind” unique organic beauty item. Rebecca’s mantra: “Moisturize moisturize moisturize and then… Moisturize some more!!!”
Informal Board:
Michael Pellman Rowland:
Moral Support & Sometimes Proofreader
Mike is an expert in all things financial and sustainability-related. He helps people invest their money in ways that get exceptional returns — both financially and for the planet. He is also a talented writer, and Hilary’s husband. He loves bird-watching, golf and snowboarding, and can somehow remember everyone he’s met since childhood (in amazing detail!) He’s been interviewed by many publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, etc.
Wade Rowland:
Ethics & Journalistic Integrity
Wade Rowland (yes, he is Hilary’s dad!) is ranked among Canada’s leading literary journalists. Publisher of the award-winning Rowland Travel Guides, he has written over a dozen books, has a column on Huffington Post and regularly writes for North America’s top magazines and newspapers (such as the New York Times). He has worked in senior editorial and management positions at both the CBC and CTV network news divisions, and in CBC television current affairs. Hi this is for Sarah. I love you articles. I have a question about relationships. I was in a long team relationship the ended due to the fact that my ex was not shore on as to have a family or not. I was all read to go and get a vasectomy fore but then she changed here mind. Beaver did that. Just wanted to ask your advice on this type of of topic? Thanks
Silvia Grant
You guys always create articles about other people’s success. I think it’s time that you had your own as well. I already read your history but I think there’s a lot of details in between that we also want to know. Majority of your team are women. We would love to know how the barriers of being a woman affected your success, including how the men on your team helped.

Can’t believe that Sarah loves flats even though she’s a model. She’s my favorite writer here aside from Hilary, of course. Been single since forever but her advice is just marvelous. I also love Angela’s content. Really well-written and hits my heart right on the spot!
Mary Carvalho
Hilary’s dad is a legend. Met him before and there’s really this aura in him.
Olivia White
Wow what a powerhouse team. No wonder Urbanette is slayin’.
Katie Rodgers
It’s not easy to run a blog this big. Don’t ever get tired of doing what you love.
Verna Clarke
You are all doing great! We’re just here to support all of you! We’ll be clapping for your success!

I also follow Rebecca Givens’ blog but I didn’t know that she was actually a nutritionist. You have amazing writers and staff. I know all of you work hard to produce great stuff for us readers and we’re really thankful. I pray that you continue to have many ideas on what to write about and that your causes will soon be realized by more people. Lots of love! ? ? ?
Leticia Bass
I’m so grateful of this team.?

Wish we could all send you gifts as thank you to your hard work. If not for you guys, we wouldn’t know what feminism really is.
