The Comedy of High-Fashion

A French stylist spoofed the fashion industry — and the results are actually quite remarkable.

‘The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.’

  1. Interesting article about flying free!!! Great tips actually. Using credit cards with bonuses like these are awesome as long as you treat it like debit cards as he said. We have been meaning to do it as my father and someone else I know get a lot of money (they don’t use the airline mileage kind) back at the end of the year and use it to take vacations with. Again just make sure you use it for all your normal purchases and then pay it off every month.

  2. So this guy who travels for free is in fact stealing his flights from his fellow passengers. Well if he is comfortable lying and conning people to get free stuff or upgrades this is totally good for him!!!

  3. Really interesting article, definitely makes me want to give it a try. But I completely disagree with meat eaters getting defensive – it is almost always because they come under attack – usually within the first 12 seconds of a conversation with a vegan. This is definitely my experience anyway, and being a vegetarian myself, I know a lot of vegans! 🙂

    • They are indeed surprisingly defensive, it’s a guilty conscience, all that blood on their hands for what is essentialy an entirely unnecessary consumption.

  4. I think the article about Anna Magee was well balanced on the whole. As with most things, vegan is not one size fits all but one can take what will work for them from a vegan, paleo or vegetarian diet. Articles such as this one show that trying a new approach may be beneficial but one also has to do their own research. Human nature being what it is, when we feel great after a major life change, be it exercise, quit smoking, weight loss, staving off cancer etc., we want to share it with everyone because we want them to feel as good as well.

  5. This guy should be a little bit …realistic. Some of us were frequent fliers long befere he had a bike …. The article is a “full promotional” – as he is a reporter and the fares he put are not real. There are no such things like ” small fees” under 20 for an international airport for long flights… the rest is bla, bla … Like all the others “crocodile national geografic trainers journalists…” when you have nothing to do and somebody realize that you’ll write anything for them …of course they pay for the trips a few thousands. So , dear “frequent flyer lounge user ” with over 300,000 miles … I used to have over 3 milions miles …. so maybe you fool some , even a lot of “dreamers” in a world where ” to spend less than 20 USD per days become more important than the place you visit” … the new global web free of charge for nothing else that a few “selfies” …

  6. I enjoyed the article about 60 days vegan diet trial, which I found interesting. May I add that when I became a vegan, I also had a considerable improvement in oral hygiene to the extent that it was remarked upon by the dentist. However in my own case I had given up most refined carbohydrate also, which bacteria use as their food source.

  7. So basically the guy is a leech, contributes very little, and someone else winds up bearing the actual cost of his travel. Kind of what we might expect from someone who reports for TP. Nice…

    • No, he actually learns about the programs and uses the rules to his advantage. I’m sure you would like it if only your corporate masters held people to the terms and conditions that we all agree to but when someone actually uses the terms and conditions to their advantage then they are a leech, right? You’re in wrong!

  8. It’s great that she could try vegan/vegetarian food, most meat-eaters are hesitant to even try.
But have they ever thought about the farm animals who suffer their whole lives, and whose lives are violently taken away from them? All of this because people want to please their taste buds, no other reason.

Dear meat eaters, please give a second thought to your food, it costs much more than the prize you see on the packages filled with animal body parts, etc. Someone’s life was taken for it, and that someone wanted to live, just like humans, cats and dogs want to live.

There are many great alternatives to meat, milk and eggs, and especially some of the meats taste exactly like the real stuff, you couldn’t tell the difference! The best part is that nobody has suffered and died in the making of them, and they’re 10 times better for the environment AND your health. When one goes vegan, everybody wins!

  9. Travelling for free sounds fascinating until you read the details on how he’s done it. Sounds like a lot of effort. I prefer to just have my travel agent book what I need and I’ll pay for it.

  10. I’m a flight attendant.. and color me skeptical. I would like to see the award travel balances for this alleged itinerary:

The epic world trip spans 13 countries — Mexico, Nicaragua, Trinidad, St. Lucia, Grenada, Germany, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Lithuania, and Finland — over the next two months. Total airfare is 136,500 frequent flyer miles plus a few small taxes, such as ‘airport use’ fees, that are all under $20 per flight.

You cant’ even get a one-way coach flight for 10,000 miles per segment, but that’s the claim here for international travel to Europe and Central America / the Caribbean.
